April is Neurodiversity Celebration Month!
Neurodiversity recognizes that differences in how we think, learn, and behave are valuable, and at HTS, we embrace these differences as strengths, not deficits.
We’re proud to have built a supportive, inclusive community with a 60:40 ratio of neurodiverse to neurotypical students, where families and staff work together toward our mission of inclusion. From students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more, we celebrate the unique perspectives each individual brings to our school.
HTS parent featured on neurodiversity episode
We’re proud to highlight one of our amazing HTS parents, Ray Kim, who was recently featured on PBS’s A World of Difference in the episode “Dads on Duty.” He shares his journey of raising a son with autism and how it transformed him into a devoted advocate for inclusion and diversity.
This episode sheds light on the vital role fathers play in supporting neurodivergent children and how love and inclusion can shape families and communities.

Neurodiversity books donated to HTS
A huge thank you to the Los Altos Rotary Club for donating books about neurodiversity to our school!
“Representation in literature is a powerful tool for fostering understanding, empathy, and inclusion. When individuals see themselves and their experiences reflected in stories, it validates their identity and encourages broader acceptance of diversity,” said our director of inclusion, Tracey Howell
We’re grateful for our community’s commitment to embracing and celebrating all learners!
