When is the application deadline?

We accept applications year-round and admissions are rolling. All applications for admission will be kept on file and reconsidered for two years.

Is financial aid available?

We do have a tuition assistance program. Parents can apply by filling out an application which requires budget and tax information.

Can my child shadow at HTS?

Unfortunately, we only offer shadow days to students who have submitted an application. We recommend applying first in order to schedule that time. After submitting an application, we set up a phone interview to learn more about your student. If we believe we may be a good fit, we can then arrange one or two shadow days.

Can HTS discontinue a student’s enrollment at any time?

Enrollment at HTS may be discontinued at the school’s sole discretion.

What are your family–school partnership and enrollment policies at HTS?

The following outlines the Hope Technology School (HTS) Family–School Partnership & Enrollment Agreement . Its purpose is to ensure clear and consistent communication regarding the expectations for our partnership with families, including HTS’s role in external correspondence. Our Partnership Philosophy At Hope Technology School, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment where every student can reach their full potential. We believe that enrollment at HTS signifies a strong partnership between the school and each family. This partnership is built on mutual respect, open communication, and a shared commitment to our inclusive mission . Family–School Partnership and Discontinuation of Enrollment HTS believes that student success flourishes in a partnership founded on trust, respect, and open communication between the school and families. Should concerns arise regarding a student’s behavior or a parent’s engagement with school expectations, we are committed to a collaborative approach: Initial Support: Concerns will be communicated clearly and respectfully. HTS will offer guidance or support when appropriate. Follow-Up: If concerns persist, HTS may request a meeting with the family to align expectations and explore possible resolutions. Final Review: If these efforts do not lead to meaningful improvement, and continued enrollment is no longer in the best interest of the student or the school community, the administration reserves the right to discontinue enrollment. This process reflects HTS’s core values of compassion, inclusion, and educational integrity. Our goal is always to work in partnership, keeping the well-being of every student and the broader learning environment in mind. Considerations for Discontinuation of Enrollment Enrollment at HTS may be discontinued for reasons including, but not limited to, the following: Ongoing inability or willingness to meet behavioral or academic standards, despite reasonable support and accommodations provided by the school. Actions by the student or family that conflict with the school’s mission or inclusive values. Disruption to the learning environment or school operations. Ongoing disregard for school policies, boundaries, or respectful communication protocols by a parent or guardian. Unresolved financial obligations. Disregard for HTS’s stated role in district or external correspondence.

What are LSP’s hours?

Our class schedule is 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM year round.

How do students enroll?

Parents enroll their future LSP students using the admissions application form . Visit the admissions page to apply.

Tuition (billed monthly) is as follows: Full-time (5 days per week): $1,000/month 4 days per week: $800/month 3 days per week: $600/month 2 days per week: $400/month 1 day per week: $200/month

Is the Life Skills Pathway (LSP) program meant to replace a primary education?

No, the LSP program is not intended to replace a primary education. It is an adjunct program designed to complement a student’s existing education, whether through school or homeschooling. Think of it as akin to a tutoring or enrichment program, providing additional support and real-world skills that enhance personal and professional development.

The LSP program is ungraded . It is an extracurricular program focused on personal development rather than academic performance. Each student follows a personalized plan tailored to their needs, with an emphasis on achieving goals and mastering life skills. As such, no grades are assigned; the focus is on growth, independence, and skill-building.

What are the LSP services and what do they include?

Life Skills Pathway (LSP) is a skills-building and enrichment program designed as an adjunct support service for young adults and full-time high school students, including homeschooled learners. Similar to a tutorial program or part-time add-on service, LSP is not a substitute for a full-time high school program and does not include extensive correspondence or in-depth observations typically associated with such programs. Our primary focus is on providing additional support and resources to help students develop essential skills. These include prevocational training such as managing a school coffee cart, practicing functional math, organizing schedules, attending adulting classes, and participating in art and PE. The program is flexible, allowing families to choose hourly participation and/or daily activities, with options ranging from 1 to 5 days per week.

Who receives district correspondence, and does the LSP program receive these communications?

We understand that educational updates are important. At this time, district correspondence is reserved for families enrolled in our K–12 program. Because the LSP program operates independently of that scope, it does not receive those communications.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

Bike to Bay will happen rain or shine. We encourage participants to dress appropriately for the weather, and we will have a rain plan in place to ensure the event is safe and enjoyable.

Is there a designated start time for the event?

Yes, the event begins at 10:30 AM, but please arrive early to check in, park, and get settled.

You may park at the office building parking lot next to the school. Ushers will direct you to the designated parking spots.

Can we register the day of the event on-site?

Yes, but we highly recommend registering in advance as we cannot guarantee T-shirts or smooth check-in for day-of registrations. If you must register on event day, only paperless payments (Venmo, Zelle, PayPal) will be accepted—NO cash or checks.

Are refunds available?

Registration is non-refundable.

Do I need a bike to participate?

Nope! You can walk, scooter, run, or stroll along the route instead. However, electric bikes and scooters are not allowed.

Do I have to be present for my child to participate?

Yes, all students must be supervised by a parent, guardian, or designated adult for Bike to Bay.

Unfortunately, no. Dogs are NOT allowed on the trail.

What else does my child need on the day of Bike to Bay?

Required: Comfortable shoes, a helmet (if riding or scootering) Encouraged: Sunscreen, a hat, and a reusable water bottle

Are there age restrictions?

Students of all ages are welcome, as well as family members and friends.

Can we bring a stroller or wagon?

Yes! Strollers and wagons are welcome for younger children or those who prefer not to walk or scooter. Please be mindful of other participants on the trail.

How do I sponsor a participant?

Donors can contribute via Pledgestar or by submitting a pledge sheet with cash, check, or electronic payment (Venmo, Zelle, PayPal). Flat donations not tied to a participant are also accepted.

When will we receive our Bike to Bay shirts?

Shirts will be distributed before the event to classrooms. If your child is absent on the distribution day, we will have them for you on the day of the event.
