Hope Technology School continues to inspire educators worldwide, as demonstrated by our hosting of a Korean delegation from the Overseas Training Program for Specialists in Special Education. The group of 15 educators, educational administrators, and policymakers visited HTS to observe our inclusive classroom practices and engage directly with our teachers and students. Their goal was to learn how to effectively implement inclusive education, and they left with a deep appreciation of our approach.

Powerful learning environment

The delegation from South Korea was particularly impressed with HTS’s innovative use of technology to seamlessly include students with and without special needs in the same classroom. One delegate shared, “I was impressed by the fact that the ratio of typical students to special education students is 1:1, that students are learning together without any discrimination based on disabilities.” This praise underscores our commitment to fostering a learning environment where every student, regardless of their abilities, is valued and supported. Their visit was an opportunity to witness firsthand how HTS integrates students with diverse needs into a unified learning environment.

At HTS, we believe that an emotional education is essential to every student’s success in school and in life. Our inclusive approach not only benefits students with disabilities but also enriches the educational experience of typical students by fostering a culture of empathy and consideration for others. During their visit, one of the delegates noted, “It was nice to see that typical students naturally helped students with disabilities during class without the need for special intervention from the teacher.” This observation highlights the power of inclusive education in promoting empathy, cooperation, and mutual respect among all students.

Building a global community

We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Korean delegation, sharing our knowledge and experiences to further the mission of inclusive education. We look forward to hosting more educators from around the world in the future, continuing to inspire and be inspired by the global community dedicated to making education accessible for all.

We hope you are as proud as we are of our students and staff’s participation in this international experience. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to contact us.
