Technology at HTS

Developing 21st Century Skills

At HTS, we utilize technology in innovative ways to provide our students with an exceptional inclusive education and to help each of our students attain his/her personal goals. Developing 21st century skills such as communication, technology proficiency and information and media literacy that will help students succeed today is a primary goal for all students.

Based in the technologically savvy Silicon Valley, HTS teachers recognize the value of helping their students embody technological skills and literacy. Skills such as researching and use of databases, programming, coding, and understanding technology safety are valuable for students in the classroom and in the working world. Progressing in knowledge and competence are necessary for communication and academic excellence. Once those skills are developed, students enter their college and adult years with a greater understanding and proficiency that allows them to be top performers in those arenas.

STEM Curriculum

Our courses, especially in the middle school and high school programs, are designed to incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math into the classroom.

Technology Standards

Technology Standards are outlined for students in every grade level.  These standards start with basic skills and safety then build upon one another so that by the time students are in their middle school years, they have become familiar with coding and programming.  All of our classrooms incorporate technology and therefore we see the importance of providing clear benchmarks for our students with all abilities.  Creating norms around for using technology provides an area in academics where student who excel particularly well here can shine in their classrooms and with peers.
