Can I visit Hope Technology School?

 

We host tours on the second Monday of each month at 3pm, except when school is closed for holiday. Please check our calendar for details about our next tour. We do not invite visitors during the school day in order to prevent disturbances for our students.

 

How many teachers are in each class?

 

We have two adults in each class, one teacher and one para-educator. Teacher to student ratio is 1:6. Therapists also work in the classroom with their clients at times. We also have volunteers that work with children during the day.  Class size is usually 12-14 students.

 

What is the ratio of typical children to special needs children?

 

Our ratio of typical to children with special needs runs about 50:50. The ratio in some classes varies.

 

Can I come and observe the classes?

 

We do not have visits during the school day. Our children are sensitive to outside influences and at this time we do not have people come into classes while in session. We do hold tours once a month on the second Monday of each month at 3:00 pm.  Check our website for more details.

 

What are your hours?

 

Our school and preschool operate from the hours of 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Summer hours for Kindergarten through high school are 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

 

How long is your school year?

 

Our school is year-round, approximately about 215 days long. We have 7 weeks off throughout the year. Two in December, one in the Spring, one in Summer and three in August to end the year.

 

How much is the current tuition?

 

  • Preschool annual tuition:
    • Full-time (M-F): $11,825
    • Part-time (M, W, F): $7,865
    • Part-time (T, TH): $5,775
  • Elementary and middle school annual tuition: $15,000
  • High school annual tuition: $17,000
  • Vocational Education:
    • Full time (M-F): $625/month
    • Part time: $125/month/# of days attending

 

Do you offer after school services?

 

Yes, we offer programs all students, including preschool.  The hours for after school care are 2:30pm-5:30pm.  Extra cost for after school program.

 

Do you offer financial aid?

 

Yes, we offer some financial aid after completion and acceptance of separate application.

 

Are you accredited?

 

Our kindergarten through 8th grade program, and 9th-10th grade pilot high school, is fully accredited by The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Our Preschool program is licensed by the State of California.

 

Are you private, public, or non-public?

 

We are a private non-profit school.

 

Do you work with insurance companies for therapy costs?

 

Costs for therapy are the responsibility of the parent or guardian of the students. While we do not work directly with insurance companies, we accept payment not only from insurance companies but from public school districts as well.

 

Is therapy included in the tuition?

 

Therapy is billed separately from tuition. Cost is $65/half hour.

 

When is your application deadline?

 

We accept rolling admissions.  We accept applications throughout the year and occasionally have vacancies in the middle of the school year which we move to fill quickly.

 

Is there a wait list?

 

We have an application pool, there is no wait list.

 

Is there a nap time in the Preschool?

 

Children in preschool have the opportunity to rest; they are not made to sleep. However there is a quiet time each day for the children to rest if they want.

 

Does my child have to be potty-trained to be in the Preschool?

 

They do not.

 

What are your recess and lunch schedule?

 

K-10th grade have a 30 minute lunch & recess break everyday.  In addition, classes take a morning 15 minute outdoor break.

 

Do you have P.E.?

 

All our classes have P.E. once/twice per week.  

 

Do you provide accommodations/modifications in the classroom?

 

Yes, some examples we incorporate include, but are not limited to modified homework load, differentiated small group instruction, brain breaks (GoNoodle), individual service plan, extra time for class assignments & tests, etc. Also we offer sensory sensitive classrooms.
